Admission to all the diploma courses at this Institute is made centrally through Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) counselling on the merit of the qualifying exam (10th class), followed by online off-campus counselling by NIC at www.tehadmissions.gov.in.
Eligibility: Pass in 10th examination from Board of School Education, Haryana, or an equivalent examination from a recognized board/university with 35% marks (subject to change by State Govt. decision, if any).
Basis of Admission: Admission to Diploma (Engg.) courses is on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam (10th class), ranked by inter-se merit. Candidates participate in online off-campus counselling by NIC at www.tehadmissions.gov.in for final seat allotment, after paying the counselling fee of Rs. 500 at www.onlinetesthry.gov.in.
Lateral Entry: Candidates who have passed ITI (at least two years), 10+2 (vocational), or 10+2 with PCM are eligible for lateral entry into the 2nd year of the relevant Diploma Engineering course, as per the compatibility of courses mentioned in the DET/DET(L) prospectus. Admission for lateral entry is on the basis of merit in the DET(L) entrance examination, followed by the same online counselling process (counselling fee Rs. 500 at www.hstes.org.in).
General Condition: Lateral entry students from ITI must additionally undergo the Applied Science course in the 3rd and 4th semesters, alongside the prescribed diploma curriculum (exemptions may apply per Board rules, e.g. for Engineering Drawing already studied at 10+2 level).
